10/08/2017 , News Team

State Street Global Advisors (SSGA), the asset management business of State Street Corporation, has appointed Rakhi Kumar as head of environmental, social and governance (ESG) and asset stewardship. She will report to Lynn Blake, chief investment officer for SSGA’s global equity beta solutions.

Prior to SSGA, Ms Kumar was assistant director at EY and has also held roles at the Institute of International Finance and Moody's Investors Service.

Additionally, Matt DiGuiseppe has been appointed as head of the Americas and Robert Walker has been appointed head of EMEA for the asset stewardship group. Most recently, Mr DiGuiseppe managed engagement and proxy voting activities at Nuveen and Mr Walker managed ESG research activities at HSBC Bank PLC. A search is underway for a head of asset stewardship for the Asia Pacific region.

State Street Global Advisors is the investment management arm of State Street Corporation. Assets under management were $2.60 trillion as of 30 June 2017.
