Liontrust appoints two from Kames Capital to new fixed income team
11/08/2017 , News Team

Fund management group Liontrust has appointed David Roberts and Phil Milburn to its new fixed income team.

Joining in early 2018, Mr Roberts and Mr Milburn will be “an excellent addition” to Liontrust’s seven existing fund management teams, according to chief executive John Ions.

Mr Roberts is currently head of the fixed income team at Kames Capital, where he has spent thirteen and a half years. He also co-manages several funds including the Kames Strategic Bond Fund. Meanwhile, Mr Milburn is head of investment strategy at the team. He joined Kames Capital in 1997 and manages its strategic and high yield bond portfolios.

Mr Ions added: “David and Phil's investment style means their funds provide diversification away from many of the other popular fixed income funds. Another attraction for us is the fact that David and Phil have a strong investor following, particularly among intermediary clients in the UK.”

He concluded: “The recruitment of David and Phil will not only expand our fund management capability but also strengthen further our fixed income proposition. Their investment style complements our Sustainable Fixed Income team of Stuart Steven, Kenny Watson and Aitken Ross.”
