Kleinwort Hambros has named John Maitland, its current commercial director, as its new chief executive following the decision of Eric Barnett, its current chief executive, to retire.
Mr Maitland assumes his new position on 1 July 2018.
Mr Barnett will remain chairman of Kleinwort Hambros businesses in the Channel Islands, however, as well as continuing to be a member of the Kleinwort Hambros board.
Gabrielle Branson, its secretary general, Mouhammed Choukeir, its chief investment officer and co-head of wealth management solutions, will both become deputy chief executives on I July..
Paul Kearney, the current head of UK private banking, will replace Mr Maitland as Kleinwort Hambros' commercial director.
All these appointments are subject to local regulatory approval.
Kleinwort Hambros is the wealth management arm of Societe Generale Private Banking in the UK, Channel Islands, and Gibraltar. It has assets under management of £16 billion and over 1,000 employees.
