On Friday 25th May, twenty colleagues from Julius Baer will set out on “an epic journey” to cycle 1,100 km from Julius Baer’s London office in the heart of the City to arrive a week later at the firm’s head office in Bahnhofstrasse, Zurich.
The team is cycling not only to fulfil a physical challenge but to support three charities – Clic Sargent, a UK cancer charity for children, young people and their families, and The Shaw Mind Foundation, a charity devoted to supporting mental health sufferers and their families, both of which are supported by Julius Baer in the UK. The third, Qhubeka, provides bicycles to communities who have limited transport options.
A Julius Baer spokesperson told thewealthnet: “Having conceived the idea a year ago, the team is made up of a hard-core group of 20, a few of whom are die-heard cyclists used to taking on London motorists during the daily commute. But for some, this is a completely new challenge. In fact, one rider only bought a bike in February!”
